Closeout Shoes Guide: Make Sure You Are Not Getting Fake Shoes.
You know that I am all for inexpensive closeout shoes and I rarely pay more than $20 for a pair, but you will never see me buying or wearing cheap quality or fake shoes.
Unfortunately, Internet is full of knock-offs these days and you have to be careful not to waste your money on something that is not going to last you long. Even if you pay only $15 for a pair of fake boots, it is still a waste, because most likely they are not going to survive one season. Besides, they are not going to be comfortable and appealing.
Because of the fear of buying fake shoes I stopped shopping for shoes on eBay. Even if the seller has 5-star rating and 100% positive feedback, it doesn’t mean he or she is not selling crap. Sadly, many people who buy from eBay don’t even realize that they bought a fake item. Unless you are familiar with the brand, it may be hard to say whether the item is real or not just by looking at it. So happy buyers who think they got a great deal leave positive feedback to the seller. Month or two later when their shoes fall apart, they tend to blame the brand and not the seller or themselves for being naïve.
Unless you really love risks or have tons of money to waste, buy shoes only from verified online shoe sellers. If you are reading this blog, you know how and where to get the best deals on closeout shoes without taking any risks.
Yesterday I decided to look for cheap Uggs online and instead of going to my favorite online shoe stores, I decided to use Google. Well, I was shocked how many fake “Ugg” stores were out there. If you don’t believe me, just Google “cheap Uggs for sale” or something like that and see it yourself. Many stores that pop up on front pages of Google sell fake Ugg boots.
My advice: buy only from verified and well-known big merchants, who guarantee the authenticity of their items and have a good return policy. You have to be real and realize that it is impossible to buy real Ugg boots for $50. If you can’t afford to get the real ones, it is better to go to Walmart and buy Ugg-like boots for $10, which will last you just as long as the Ugg knock-offs.
