Ugg vs Emu Boot. Which One is Better?

Ugg vs Emu boot: I was browsing Endless and ran into something that looked exactly like Uggs, but was called Emu boot. I got curious because Endless claimed that Emu boots were also sheepskin boots and originated from Australia. Since the price for the Emu boot was much lower than for pretty much any Ugg boot (even if they were on sale) and since Endless has free shipping and returns, I could help myself and got myself a pair of Emu Bronte Mini boot. I think I paid $32 total.

They arrived quickly and I was pleasantly pleased with them, so I thought I would write an unbiased review for my faithful subscribers.

First of all, let me say that Emu boots are NOT Ugg knockoffs. Internet rumor says that the guy who created the brand used to work for Uggs, but left and opened his own business.

Emu boots are not fake like some people like to say. Yes, they are made in China, but so are Ugg boots. (Isn’t everything made in China these days anyway?)

The insides of Emu boot are 100% wool. It is very soft and not itchy, however if you are allergic to wool, these boots are not for you.

Emu boots are made from Australian sheepskin only. The suede is real as well. People who say otherwise don’t know what they are talking about. Unless they got fake Emu boots.

Emu boots were found in 1994, but they seemed to become popular in the U.S. only recently. Some say that the reason Uggs are more popular and more expensive is because they made a better advertising campaign. Many Ugg lovers say that the quality of Emu boots is not as good as the Uggs, but I read a number of reviews where people were swearing that Emu boot is much more durable and much more comfortable than Ugg.

While comfort is the matter of preference, the price of Emu boot is definitely better.

I am going to keep my Emu boots, because they are super warm (much warmer than my Ugg Swell boots) and the price was hard to beat. If you decide to buy Emu boot, keep in mind that some models run really big. I am usually a size 7.5-8, but I was able to comfortable fit in size 6 Emu Bronte boot.
