Alisha,
I know what you mean. Some Emu's are really expensive while Uggs (especially if you can fit in to a kids size) can be bought for around $100.

However, I frequently see Emu's on sale (on Amazon, for example they do 50% off a few times a year), but not the Uggs.

I have a pair of Uggs and a pair premium Emu boots. I love them both but my Emu's are much more comfortable since they have support for your feet. I paid 190 for my Uggs and 245 for my Emus so i dont know why people are saying there is a major price jump. Both are equally soft and it just depends on when you wear it. i tend to wear my Emus when its colder and my Uggs when its slightly warmer outside.

I have had 2 pairs of uggs and one pair of emu. I dance 12 hours a week and need some total support for my feet. I feel that the emu hurt your heels after walking all day long, where my uggs give me no issue. I do like the arch support of the emu boots though. The uggs are flatter and more solid. The uggs are much warmer and I would rather spend the money for the comfort and warmth of uggs.

I've had Emus for two years and I must admit I haven't been as thrilled with them as some others here. Mine stretched out and became more like 80s moon boots. I really didn't beat them up, but they have become so uncomfortable because my foot slides around in them even with super thick socks, I had to get rid of them. I just got a pair of Uggs, it could be they'll turn out to be terrible too, but so far they are much more comfortable.

emus are better than uggs hands down. i own both. i have a grey pair of ugg upside and two pairs of emus (both are premium). i love emus because they have arch support insoles and a rubber tread sole that uggs just don't have. my upsides have these rubber pods on the bottom, but they don't grip as well as my emus. they also don't have arch support and i thought they were way to expensive for their price. my feet feel better after walking around in emus for an entire days. if you wear uggs, you are wearing the brand, not the quality (or the style).

I've also discovered Bearpaws recently. The styles are very similar and they are really warm. I have a pair of clogs (Jasmine, I think), which are pretty cute and relatively comfy, but their quality is not the best. I also have crochet Bearpaw boots, which are awesome: stylish, WARM and INEXPENSIVE! The quality is outstanding, so I think it is a hit-or-miss.

Actually not all emu boots have the wool. Just the cheaper versions. They do have their premium boots which has the same stuff as Uggs have. Plus emu's have an arch support, they are water resistant. You still need to water proof them and be careful.
I've personally owned both Uggs and premium emu boots, the Emu's are better made and way more comfortable. plus i've notice ugg seems to copy emu styles. Emu's had different styles up the sides of their boots way before Uggs came out with the botton bailey. So yeah Emu's are way more valuable no matter what the high schoolers are saying. :/
