How to Clean Suede Boots at Home

Suede is a durable and nice-looking material, which unfortunately can be a pain to clean. Everyone needs to know how to clean suede boots at home, because it can save lots of time and money and extend the life of your favorite suede boots.

I learned it the hard way, but the best way to clean suede boots is not to get them dirty. Duh!- you may say and you will be absolutely right. I didn’t bother getting any stain protectants just because I didn’t think my boots would get dirty so quickly. The first time I wore my brand new suede boots, I stained them when getting out of my car.

I was able to clean them eventually, but the amount of time it took me was not worth $6 or $7 which I could have paid for stains and water protectant.

If you already made a mistake that I made, here is my post about how to clean suede purses and shoes.

If your shoes are still flawless, invest into a good rain and stain protectant. It is so worth it.

Some people swear that they use Scotch Gard, even on their Ugg boots and that it works great. I personally haven’t used it. I used KIWI suede protectant which I got at Walmart.

If you invested a good amount of money in Uggs, then I suggest you go to Ugg Australia website and buy Sheepskin protectant. I think it costs around $8- $10, which is a little more expensive that some other brands, but at least you can be sure that you Ugg boots are not going to be ruined.
