First of all, when I say cheap Emu boots, I don’t mean that Emu boots are cheap (as in quality). Emu is a pretty well known Australian brand, which makes good quality sheepskin boots which look a lot like Uggs, but are much cheaper.
Buying shoes online can be tricky, because even though you may think you know your size, shoe designers are not always consistent. Different shoe models have different fits, so if you are buying designer shoes online, make sure you choose a store that offers you free shipping and has a good return policy (free returns and a decent amount of time to return shoes which don’t fit).
Ugg vs Emu boot: I was browsing Endless and ran into something that looked exactly like Uggs, but was called Emu boot. I got curious because Endless claimed that Emu boots were also sheepskin boots and originated from Australia. Since the price for the Emu boot was much lower than for pretty much any Ugg boot (even if they were on sale) and since Endless has free shipping and returns, I could help myself and got myself a pair of Emu Bronte Mini boot. I think I paid $32 total.

If Ugg designers created full-grain leather Uggs sooner, I would have pulled the trigger awhile ago. I read many raving Ugg reviews, but couldn’t make myself buy something that unattractive. Also, I am not very neat, so I knew that classic suede Uggs were not going to last long. It is kind of hard to blow 200 bucks knowing that the boots may not survive one season.
Even though Uggs have been around for awhile they became very popular within the last couple of years. Ugg reviews on the Internet are full of praise and claims that these boots are like Heaven for your feet and there are no other boots like them.
I ran into Merrell Shoes last year in Marshalls, but hesitated to buy them because I was not familiar with this brand. I usually shop at Skechers.com for my stylish/sporty shoe needs, but they didn’t have anything I liked that I did not yet have.
Fitflop ads claiming that you can get fit just by wearing the miracle shoes didn’t really impress me. I mean, of course, who wouldn’t like to be fit and skinny by doing nothing other than wearing some funky shoes? However most of us don’t believe promising and appealing ads anymore, because they are known to be deceiving.
