Ugg Reviews: Suede/Classic vs Leather Uggs
If Ugg designers created full-grain leather Uggs sooner, I would have pulled the trigger awhile ago. I read many raving Ugg reviews, but couldn’t make myself buy something that unattractive. Also, I am not very neat, so I knew that classic suede Uggs were not going to last long. It is kind of hard to blow 200 bucks knowing that the boots may not survive one season.
Finally, smart Ugg designers started making boots which not only looked good, but also seemed much more durable. Some Ugg reviewers claimed that they have suede Uggs for 4 plus years and they still look like new. I don’t think they are lying, because if treated properly suede can last you many years, but in my opinion treating, pre-treating and the like is a pain in the butt, and if I am willing to spend that much money on a pair of shoes, I will buy the ones I don’t have to clean every day.
The main difference between leather and suede leather Uggs (besides that they are different type of leathers of course) is that classic Ugg boots are usually warmer than the leather ones and they are more comfortable. Some leather Uggs (such as Swell model) don’t have sheepskin foot bed, so they are not as cozy as the classic ones.
I always preferred style over comfort, so leather Uggs are definitely my kind of boots. I personally think that they look much more stylish and since they are sturdy, they give better arch support. If you check Amazon or Zappos for Ugg reviews you will see that many people actually say that they don’t like the fact that leather Uggs are sturdy and they would much rather prefer cozy and soft classic Uggs.
Another benefit of some leather Ugg models (such as Ugg Brookfield) is that they are waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about your super expensive boots or your feet if it starts snowing.
If you can’t decide which boots are the best for you read more Ugg reviews and decide what is more important for you. If you live in a rainy area, I would suggest waterproof Uggs. If you don’t walk much and spend most of the winter in your home or in your car, then you can go ahead and buy classic suede Uggs. Or if this is the case maybe you don’t need $200 boots at all.

I find suede ones much more comfortable, but they are not as durable and too high-maintenance for my taste.
